Chairman, President & CEO

David R. Carpenter is the Chairman of Paradigm Partners International and is a member of Cool Springs Financial Group, LLC.

Carpenter retired in 1995 as Chairman and CEO of Transamerica life insurance companies as well as the senior executive in charge of Transamerica’s real estate, asset management, and mutual fund companies.

During his tenure as President, then Chairman and CEO, he took Transamerica through a significant transformation, during which the company experienced strong growth. Under his leadership, the company divested its Australian and British operations as well as the US Group health insurance business in highly successful transactions. His experience and knowledge of the life reinsurance business helped Transamerica rise from obscurity to the market leader. He also led the company into the long-term care and the structured settlement businesses. In the last five-year period of this tenure, earnings more than doubled, and Transamerica achieved a compound annual growth rate for each of the five major lines of business approximating 20%.

Mr. Carpenter was recognized by the American College of Life Insurance as one of the legends in the life insurance industry. After his retirement from Transamerica, Dave served as Chairman, then CEO of UniHeath, a diverse health care organization owning hospitals, HMOs, and practice management groups. Under his leadership, an extensive strategic planning effort was undertaken that led to divestiture of operating businesses and the conversion of UniHealth into a foundation, which he continues to chair.

Fellow, Society of Actuaries; B.A., Business; M.S., Mathematics; University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Premium Financing - The History

As a means to safeguard your estate and protect your family and loved ones from the financial turmoil of a premature death, there is nothing more effective and reliable than a comprehensive life insurance policy.

However, for individuals like you with unique circumstances, the challenges of purchasing sufficient life insurance can be complex. These include an unwillingness to tap into your existing capital to make premium payments and a desire to avoid any unnecessary gift taxes.

Premium Financing was developed precisely to help you overcome these challenges.

Traditional Premium Financing

Over the last 20 years, traditional premium financing has become a preferred method to pay life insurance premiums for high-net-worth individuals like yourself. Utilizing this model, lenders have historically provided financing for life insurance premiums with normal interest rate spreads plus typical loan fees.

The key feature of this method is, by design, one never has to write a check or liquidate assets to pay premiums, making it the most appealing alternative in many cases.

Why Cool Springs Life Equity is far superior to any traditional premium finance product available on the marketplace.

The Cool Springs Life Equity Strategy enables you to finance an amount sufficient to fund all your life insurance premiums and all interest payments and other costs associated with this transaction at extremely low interest rates not generally available to individuals. This low-cost financing means you can achieve the security you desire without the need to liquidate any of your assets.

The Cool Springs Life Equity Strategy delivers superior value in premium financing by partnering with the finest banking, insurance, and financial institutions in the world. Our extensive knowledge and expertise in this field has enabled us to create an arbitrage between the crediting rate of a high-cash-value life insurance policy and the cost of borrowing money.

Consequently, the policy is designed for the accumulated cash value to be sufficient over time to repay the loan, and continue to fund the policy for the rest of your life. Our substantially lower borrowing costs allows this crossover event and release of your collateral to occur years earlier than traditional financing plans currently offered anywhere.
